Solving Google drive sync issues in Windows 10
PCs that have been updated to Windows 10 are having Google Drive issues with files not syncing. The Desktop Icon is not responding and putting files into Drive using the desktop shortcut is not working.

Allow an App through Windows Firewall
1. Click the Start button and type Allow App through Windows Firewall and click on Change Settings. You'll need an admin account to do this.
2. Select the button below the list of allowed apps titled "Allow another app..."
3. Navigate to 'googledrivesync.exe' - typically found in Program Files x86 | Google | Drive
4. Select this EXE to add to the list of allowed apps. Click OK at the bottom of the window when finished.
5. Change the setting of the app to only allow private connections (for security reasons).
6. Navigate to 'go ogledrivesy nc.exe' folder and re-run the application.
7. If Google Drive is still not syncing you will manually need to upload your file by going to http://drive.google.com and clicking on My Drive and selecting Upload Files.

insert download link into a Google drive document and share the document
Sharing a file on Google Drive is simply a matter of copying the link. But what if you wanted that download link to be hyperlinked within that document? Follow the steps below.
1. Design your document and make a section that says something like ''Download Link for 'mydocumentname'" and leave enough space for the link to be pasted.
2. Save the file and upload to Google Drive.
3. Keep the document open.

4. Copy the share link.
5. Paste the url link into Google URL Shortener at https://goo.gl/ and copy the shortened link.
6. Paste the shortened url link into the document you have left open.
7. Hyperlink the url link.

8. Go back to Google Drive and this time right click on the document and select Manage Versions
9. Upload the new version.

Now you have a downloadable document with a shortened download link embedded within. A number of people can have the share link and everytime a new version is uploaded the link stays the same.
